BiWaze® Clear innovates airway clearance with expiratory flow bias for effective secretion mobilization, superior aerosol delivery, and a closed dual-lumen circuit that minimizes aerosol escape. Designed for efficiency and ease of use, it helps reduce respiratory complications and supports diverse patient respiratory therapy needs across hospital settings.

Why Choose BiWaze Clear for Airway Clearance Therapy

BiWaze® Clear is an advanced airway clearance system designed to deliver oscillating lung expansion (OLE) therapy and support patients in hospital and acute care settings. Leveraging innovative expiratory flow bias technology, it mobilizes secretions efficiently, enhances aerosol delivery, and reduces the risk of aerosol escape with a closed, dual lumen breathing circuit.

Engineered for ease of use, BiWaze Clear combines Positive Expiratory Pressure (PEP), High-Frequency Oscillation (HFO), and Aerogen’s vibrating mesh nebulizer into a single compact system. With its lightweight, portable design and intuitive touchscreen interface, the system simplifies therapy delivery while supporting diverse patient airway clearance needs.

OLE therapy has been clinically proven to reduce postoperative pulmonary complications, ventilator time, and hospital length of stay, BiWaze Clear empowers clinicians to provide superior care that improves outcomes and streamlines workflows.

How does BiWaze® Clear Work?

The BiWaze® Clear System delivers oscillating lung expansion (OLE) therapy to help treat and prevent atelectasis, mobilize retained secretions from deep within the lungs, and reduce the work of breathing. The system provides three integrated respiratory therapies:
  • Positive Expiratory Pressure (PEP): Delivers programmed positive pressure that the patient exhales against, opening and expanding the airways. The nebulizer can operate during PEP therapy to distribute saline solution throughout the airways.
  • High-Frequency Oscillation (HFO): Generates programmed pulses of positive pressure to thin secretions and move them from the distal airways to the upper airways, where they can be coughed out or suctioned. The nebulizer can also run during HFO therapy for enhanced saline distribution.
  • Nebulizer (NEB): Powers the integrated Aerogen® Solo vibrating mesh nebulizer to deliver aerosolized saline or medications directly to the lungs.
Traditional airway clearance therapies, such as high-frequency chest wall oscillation (HFCWO), typically last 30 minutes and require patients to wear a vest to externally oscillate the chest wall. In contrast, BiWaze Clear provides a more efficient and comfortable solution by delivering airway clearance therapy directly to the lungs. Alternating between PEP and HFO every 2.5 minutes while continuously delivering NEB therapy, the system completes a full OLE therapy session in just 10 minutes.

Innovative Design for Advancing Airway Clearance

Dual blowers in BiWaze Clear provide the ability to control the inhale and exhale paths through the Dual Lumen breathing circuit.

The closed circuit design reduces fugitive aerosols by directing the exhale through the coaxial filter and the Aeorgen® Solo nebulizer* ensures a high respirable dose for the patient.

Oscillating Lung Expansion (OLE) therapy is a proven option to reduce PPCs for your at risk patients after thoracic, upper abdomen, trauma, burns, geriatric or splinting.3

The therapy can be delivered through a mouthpiece, face mask or trach adapter to pediatric or adult patients.

Electronic blower design allows therapy to be available in any area of the hospital like the ICU, ED, and other step-down wards and long-term care facilities.

Home PEP therapy with BiWaze Clear for COPD, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis.

A battery is included with every system for flexibility and use across the continuum of care outside the hospital like rehabilitation or home care.
